Beautiful Handmade Ceramic Poppy Pin

This flower pin will look stunning as a feature on a black dress, and will brighten up any coat or jacket lapel. Because of the long pin fastenings they can also be worn in hats or to pin a scarf, a very versatile and unique piece of jewellery.

The petals and the centres of these ceramic brooches are created individually one at a time from a fine white clay, i do not use moulds. The poppies therefore vary slightly in petal size and shape, this makes them unique and no poppy is ever the same. The photos show the slight variations in the poppy brooches that i make, so you can see that all are slightly different.

poppy symbolism:
Red – Remembrance
White – Peace
Purple – remembering animals that have sacrificed in the war (UK)

The poppy has been fired using a rich shiny Red glaze colour on the petals with a deep slightly metallic black coloured flower centre. I have also made variations of the poppy with a Yellow glaze and an Orange glaze, please see photo’s and select colour from the drop down menu.

The metal pin of the brooch measures 6cm, and there is a removable safety stopper that fits over the end of the pin.
